Four steps to enter a live watch prize competition
Notice: This text reflects an ongoing transition of WantThat.watch to a UK-registered operating company. Some company and legal details are temporary and will be confirmed before paid public launch. Final UK legal documents and registered entity details must be reviewed before public paid competitions open.
Each Want That Watch prize competition is a skill-based promotion: a fixed closing date, a guaranteed draw, and a winner selected from all eligible correct entries. The route below applies whether you enter by paid entry online or via the free postal entry route.
The flow, in plain English
How winners are selected
Once a competition closes, the eligible correct entries are collected with their unique Entry IDs and sorted into a canonical list. A deterministic algorithm derives the winning Entry ID from a recorded random seed and that sorted list, and the draw record — seed, entry list, winner index, audit hash — is stored so the result of new draws can be recomputed and checked. Legacy draws may not include the full verification record. See the fairness page for the full draw system.
Free postal entry
Free postal entry route
You do not have to make a purchase to enter. The free postal entry route is available for every competition, with equal odds of winning. To enter free by post:
- Submit your entry details through the official postal entry process on this website (no purchase required).
- On a postcard or piece of plain A6 paper, write: your full name, your date of birth (you must be 18+), your full postal address, the email address registered on the website, your phone number, the competition you wish to enter, and your answer to that competition's skill question.
- Address the postcard to: WantThat.watch, an address to be confirmed before launch. The binding free-entry address and any updates to it are set out in Schedule 1 of the Terms & Conditions — please check there before posting.
- One postal entry per envelope. Multiple entries inside one envelope count as a single entry. The postcard must be received before the published competition closing date.
- Postal entries are logged against your submitted entry details in the same draw pool as paid entries. Equal odds, same draw, same audited outcome.
No purchase necessary. The full free-entry schedule is binding and is set out in the Terms & Conditions.
Closing date and draw timing
Each competition has a fixed closing date and a guaranteed draw. The closing date cannot be postponed; it can only be brought forward in case of a sold-out event. The winner is always selected from all eligible correct entries on the published draw date.
